In March, the Rice Diet Program welcomed back Ricer alum Dani, whose continued success at home has been so remarkable that many did not recognize her upon her return.
Dani first came to the Rice Diet Program in the summer of 2010 seeking a lifestyle change and a new outlook on life to aid her in her pursuit of weight loss and maintenance. Dani was so inspired by her success at the Rice Diet Program that upon returning home she diligently continued the program and over the next nine months lost an additional 81 pounds!
When Dani returned to the Rice Diet Program for a visit this March to re-energize, she provided insights into her remarkable success, inspiring fellow Ricers in their own pursuit of continued weight loss through following the diet at home. Dani credits weekly menu planning as one of the keys to the great success that she has achieved at home.
Dani sets aside time each Sunday to write out her menu for the upcoming week, which she then uses to generate her grocery list. Dani says this allows her to complete her grocery shopping and meal preparation for the upcoming week on Sundays so she is already ahead of the game when the new week rolls in. Dani also attributes her continued success to her consistent commitment to waking up early each morning to work out before heading in to her job and to consciously "moving more" throughout the entire rest of her day as well.
"Emotionally I feel more confident and good about myself. I am happier and my self-esteem has gone up. Shopping for clothes is actually fun now!" Dani exclaims. On a more serious note, Dani's remarkable 120-pound weight loss to date has allowed for significant improvements in her quality of life. Dani describes her ability to walk without being out of breath now, improvements in her sleep and the elimination of the swelling, aches and pain that she previously suffered from before coming to the Program.
Dani concludes about the Rice Diet Program, "It saved my life! Spiritually, I have more faith in myself and God."
Dani's commendable success can serve as an inspiration to us all.
